Mechanical Engineer (senior)

As a mechanical engineer, you are co-responsible for the entire mechanical design of the machines. You translate technical specifications into a practical design, often from scratch. You will not lose sight of issues such as cost price, manufacturability, and serviceability. This may involve a very accurate transport system or adjustment mechanism where the tolerances to be achieved are in the micrometer range. But less precise components, such as the machine housing, are also considered. The aesthetic design often plays a role in this as well. You also contribute to the concept development of a system and the modular construction of the printer. You document the design process in our knowledge database and you substantiate your design choices by means of manual and/or FEM calculations. You almost always work in a multidisciplinary team in which you constantly communicate with other team members in order to achieve the best result together. With new developments, you often also carry out tests yourself in order to validate your design and you supervise the assembly of the system. Between major developments, you also help answer questions from other departments such as sales, assembly, and service. In short, a very challenging and versatile job!

The development of our printers takes place entirely in-house in a multidisciplinary team consisting of, software, mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic engineers. For the printing process, we also employ our own print specialists and process engineers. We have our own lab where we can further develop our technology in all areas using test printers and equipment.

New machines are assembled in our own assembly hall and tested 100% before they are shipped to the customer and installed by our own people. The modular construction of the printers and their connectivity to the internet means that maintenance can often be carried out remotely. If necessary, our own service engineers travel to a location to solve problems.
